In August of 2026, I dove Dam Bay with Nha Trang Diving Club, by boat out of Nha Trang, Vietnam.
Dam Bay sits on Hon Tre, the big island off the Nha Trang coast.
This is definitely a beginner site, with lots of snorkel boats.
Dam Bay
The Dive

The site is shallow the whole way through. It has a rocky bottom running out into sand, with coral scattered across it.

What Marine Life I Saw
Even with poor visibility, there was still plenty of marine life to see.

Logistics

Nha Trang Diving Club picked me up at my hotel and drove me out to the marina.

From the marina it is a 1 to 1.5 hour boat ride out to the site, so this is a full day out rather than a quick trip.
A two dive day ran $75, which covered lunch, gear, and a guide.

Dive Conditions

Visibility on my dive was around 16 ft (5 m). There had been winds and storms in the area in the days before and the water had not settled back down.
Nha Trang Diving Club say it can go upwards of 49 to 66 ft (15 to 20 m) here.
Water temp sat at 78.8°F (26°C).
