Diving No Name Pinnacle in Koh Tao, Thailand

I dove No Name Pinnacle in August 2026 with Big Blue Diving, by boat out of Koh Tao, Thailand.

The barracuda school here was the best thing I saw in Thailand.

The pinnacle sits about 15 metres from the HTMS Suphairin wreck, close enough that the two get dived on a single tank.

That is how I dove it, so the log below covers both sites.

No Name Pinnacle

I do not have a GPS fix for this one, but it sits off the northwest side of the island, west of the Twins.

Big Blue pair it with Chumphon Pinnacle on the same morning trip, out at 07:30 and back by 12:30.

The Pinnacle

Hard coral covers most of the slope.

No Name Pinnacle is a submerged rock that tops out well below the surface, so the whole dive happens on the structure.

Koh Tao operators put the top at around 60 feet (18 m), dropping to roughly 100 feet (30 m) at the base.

The coral cover is healthier here than on the wreck next door, which makes sense given the Suphairin has only been down since 2023.

The Dive

The mooring line ties straight into the top of the pinnacle.

You drop down the mooring line and the pinnacle appears underneath you.

Then you find the barracuda.

The school packed tight enough to block the light.

The school sat above the pinnacle for most of the dive and did not break up when we moved through it.

The average depth of 44 feet (13.4 m) against a 76 foot (23.2 m) max shows how much of this dive is spent up on the structure rather than down at the base.

Dive Conditions

Heavy cloud on the surface between dives.

Water temperature averaged 86°F (30°C).

The weather was poor the whole time I was on Koh Tao, and this day was no exception.
