I dove Hidden Reef in July 2026 with Trawangan Dive, by boat out of Gili Trawangan, Indonesia.

Hidden Reef, also known as Secret Reef, Soraya Reef, or Mirko's, sits in the channel between Gili Meno and Gili Air.

It's a short boat ride out of Gili Trawangan.

The Dive

Hidden Reef starts around 39 ft (12 m) and slopes down to 98 to 115 ft (30 to 35 m), with endless hard and soft coral the whole way. The channel between Gili Meno and Gili Air typically runs a north to south current, which made it a fun drift dive.

The boat drops you at the north end and you let the current carry you south along the coral. I stayed in the 45 ft (14 m) average range for most of the dive.

Dive Conditions

Tanks lined up at the shop before the boat.

Visibility on my dive was 80 ft (24 m) and water temp was 82.4°F (28°C).

Current strength is the variable here. It changes day to day, and a dive guide will typically jump into the water when you arrive at the site to check.
