Diving White Beach in Moalboal, Philippines

In September of 2026, I dove White Beach with Dive In Amigos, by boat out of Moalboal, Philippines.

The day before I'd done a three tank trip that hit Pescador Island, Panagsama House Reef and Tonga South.

Those three are what almost everybody comes to Moalboal for, and they were all incredible.

This one was for the sites nobody talks about.

The Dive

White Beach sits off the beach of the same name, which is the most popular beach in Moalboal and a decent distance from the main town.

There aren't really any beaches in town itself. A typhoon took the sand off Panagsama back in 1984 and it never came back, which is why the main strip is rock and sea wall instead of sand.

The site is close enough to shore that you'd think you could walk in, but I don't know anyone who dives it that way. Everybody goes by boat.

I logged 85 ft (25.9 m) at the deepest, with an average of 42 ft (12.8 m) across 61 minutes. That's the longest dive I did in Moalboal.

Visibility was 90 ft (27 m).

The Wall

This is really epic wall diving.

The rock here is old coral reef that got lifted up out of the sea. Cebu and the islands around it have been rising since the late Neogene, and the uplift carried on into recent times, which is why the whole coastline is capped in limestone.

What it's standing over is the Tañon Strait, the channel between Cebu and Negros, which drops to around 1,640 ft (500 m).

So you get a reef a few fin kicks off the beach with half a kilometre of water underneath it. That's the whole appeal, and it's why nobody shore dives it.

What Marine Life I Saw

The wall face and the slope above it are where everything is.

The Dive & Conditions

Visibility was 90 ft (27 m) on my dive and the water was 86°F (30°C).

The site is worth diving from September through May.
