I dove the Altug Shipwreck in June 2026 on a boat trip out of Kaş, on Turkey's Turquoise Coast.

‍The Altug is one of Kaş lesser-known wreck dives, and on the same dive there's a sunken Cessna-type plane sitting nearby on the seafloor.

The Dive

Originally a commercial vessel, the Altuğ sank by accident.

While being towed to a marina for maintenance, the towing lines snapped.

The boat lost control and sank to its current resting place on its port side.

The wreck will be marked by a buoy.

We created a fresh air space 90FT deep to speak underwater.

Inside of the middle level.
Sunken Cesna plane sitting at around 70FT deep.

Dive Conditions

Visibility on my dive was 25 feet in June 2026.

Water temperature was 71.6°F.

The site is calm and suitable for advanced divers.

September and October are worth considering for summer temperatures with fewer tourists. Many operators close February and March.
