Everything I Saw Scuba Diving Cleobulus Tomb in Lindos, Rhodes

No items found.

In June 2026, I dove Cleobulus Tomb off the northern headland of Lindos Bay in Rhodes, Greece, also known as the "Great Cave of Lindos."

This is one of the best dives in Rhodes, and I was lucky enough to encounter a critically endangered Mediterranean monk seal inside it.

The site is named for Cleobulus, one of the Seven Sages of Ancient Greece, whose stone tomb sits on the headland above. The cave itself is a cathedral-like formation with a main entrance around 25 meters, and drop-offs that fall away from 35 down to 110 meters.

Parking & Logistics

Access to Cleobulus Tomb is by car to the harbor, followed by a RIB boat transfer. Lepiadive requires divers to complete a check dive the day before visiting this site, since cave penetration depth depends on diver qualification.

Dive Conditions

Visibility on my dive was 35 ft. Water temperature was 73.4°F / 23°C.

This site is recommended for Advanced certified divers given the cave's depth range and entry requirements.
